Uniting West Bexley Preschool is a 50-seat kindergarten that has exceeded the national quality standard. Long-term leave – Employees must be able to take long-term leave in blocks of at least two weeks. Overtime and time spent in place – Teachers, both long-term daycares and kindergartens, are provided with overtime or accumulate time instead of attending all required sessions that take place outside of working hours (the current EA only provides for staff meetings). The period of employment must be used within 12 weeks, unless otherwise agreed.
Unused time in their place is paid at the overtime rate. Professional Development – Teachers can participate in nesa registered professional development for at least eight hours per year. The union covers the costs of the course and teachers receive overtime or collect time instead for participation outside working hours. School Transition Records – Each employee responsible for the transition to school transcripts receives 25 minutes of contactless time per statement, up to a maximum of 8 hours per employee. Contactless time – A critical reflection time of 15 minutes per week is introduced. In addition, as of December 6, 2019, the contactless period is at least two hours per week or 25 minutes per child per month, whichever is longer. As of July 1, 2021, programming time will increase to at least 2.5 hours per week or 30 minutes per child per month. The IEU is satisfied with the final outcome of the negotiations and supports the proposed corporate agreement for our members. Heads of Education – Five hours a month without contact time are given to heads of education.

Union Training Leave – Uniting offers up to three days per year of paid leave to up to five delegates to participate in union activities, including training and union conferences.
